INDEPENDENT RECORDING ARTIST ROBBIE RHODES RELEASES “NEXT CHRISTMAS” ALBUM TO BENEFIT THE EDIE HAND FOUNDATION AND ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL
San Francisco, CA/Memphis, TN: Independent recording artist, Robbie Rhodes releases “NEXT Christmas” album to benefit the Edie Hand Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rhodes’ original song, “Let’s Play Jingle Bells,” and a new arrangement of “You’re All I Want for Christmas/This Year,” will be the first singles from the CD released to radio. This stellar charity album also includes renditions of seasonal classics like, “O Holy Night,” “What Child is This” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?” Robbie will play select tour dates across the country to support this release.
Rhodes is a recording artist and producer in California, who has attributed his inspiration and love for performing music to The King of Rock and Roll. After The King’s tragic passing, Robbie was discovered by a talent manager in the Pacific Northwest. At 14 years of age, Rhodes became the youngest tribute artist of the time and performed internationally with various music legends. Eventually, Robbie set aside the impersonations, and now dedicates his music career in giving back to those in need. On “NEXT Christmas,” Rhodes has not only maintained authenticity to the recording and production sound from the era he was inspired by, but is also donating all of the proceeds.
St. Jude was one of The King’s favorite charitable organizations, and Rhodes honors him by donating to their organization. For 50 years, St. Jude has been treating children with cancer or other deadly diseases, and discovering innovations through research. They treat over 7,800 children a year without charging the families. With daily operating costs around $1.8 million dollars, and no money asked of patients or families, St. Jude survives on the generosity of donations. You Pave the Way/Edie Hand Foundation runs educational programs for kids and supports St Jude along with Children’s of Alabama Hospital. Founder, Edie Hand wrote, “Robbie Rhodes is a special guy with a genuine heart to celebrate my cousin Elvis’ music.” She goes on to state that Robbie’s generosity will help, “… to make children’s lives better through the donations from the sales of his album.”
Just in time for the holidays, fans have an opportunity to support causes that were dear to The King, and get some great music in return. The “NEXT Christmas” charity album, as well as Rhodes’ spring 2012 release “NEXT Train From Memphis,” are available online for purchase at iTunes and Amazon. Purchasing either CD will help kids and make perfect holiday gifts!
